Green Surface Technologies and Sihl Join Forces to Launch
Permovable
Green Surface Technologies, an Atlanta technology development company, and Sihl Digital Imaging, a world leader in production, sale and
distribution of specialty films and substrates for digital printing, announce today the launch of Permovable™ outdoor graphic film at International Sign
Association trade fair, in Las Vegas.
Permovable™ is a self-adhesive, digitally printable sign and advertising graphic media for use outdoors on rough, porous surfaces. Permovable™ offers a
host of benefits in comparison to previously available graphic films. It can be printed on commonly used large format digital printers. It is easily installed
without need for special tools or surface preparation. Once installed, the printed film conforms to the structure underneath concrete, asphalt, or other
porous materials used in walls, slabs, sidewalks, streets and parking lots. It meets the anti-slip standards for outdoor walkways, and requires no
over-laminate. Permovable™ is “vinyl-free”, posing no risk to the environment that can arise from metals and toxic plasticizers found in many conformable
vinyl films. And, when the graphic is no longer needed, it is easily removed with a power-washer, fracturing into sand-like particles that need no special
disposal methods. The adhesive washes off as well.

Diatec Group, global leader in coated media for digital print applications, announced today that is has acquired Star Coating AG. The acquisition will
enhance its European industrial base, and gives Diatec entry into light sensitive films for the electronics industry.
Star Coating AG, Niederhasli, Canton Zurich, Switzerland, will be re-incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Sihl AG, located in Bern, Switzerland.
Proximity to Bern, and similarities in product assortment and production equipment, are expected to yield a competitive and high-tech manufacturing
enterprise as the acquisition is integrated with Sihl AG, and with Diatec Group’s other film coating operations in Germany and the USA.
A substantial portion of the “Star” business is for light sensitive films used in the manufacture of printed circuit boards, a new business field for Diatec Group.
This is a step forward in a long term strategy to grow beyond Digital Imaging into new fields for which coating flexible materials is the primary business, and
which fit Diatec’s mission to become “The Coating Company”. The acquisition will increase Diatec Group turnover by about 6%.
