Competition often brings out the best efforts and results from professionals, and the same can be said about collaboration. This year, both will be emphasized for graphics installers of 3M™ Wrap Film Series 1080. The 2016 Wrap2Wrap contest features two online rounds, with the top two finalists joining forces to perform live wrap installations on Thursday, Nov. 3, at the 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
“The last two years of Wrap2Wrap have been an incredible success and a terrific way for 3M to engage with the graphics installer community. We’ve enjoyed seeing the stunning projects that are created all across the country,” said Janelle Pizzi, product marketer for 3M Commercial Solutions Division. “We have several surprises in store for the live-wrap at SEMA, and we can’t wait to marvel at the creativity and quality of this year’s submissions.”
Wrap2Wrap is an open contest between installers of 3M Wrap Film Series 1080 throughout the United States, and provides a platform for them to showcase their exceptional work with leaders in the industry. This year, the pair of finalists will be selected over the course of two rounds by a panel of expert judges, including the 2015 Wrap2Wrap winners:
Round 1 judges: July 11 – Sept. 2
• Phil Aquin, 3M Preferred Installer; Adhere Graphics
• Marcio Oliveira, Technical Service; 3M Commercial Solutions Division
• Todd Straub, Technical Service; 3M Commercial Solutions Division
Round 2 judges: Sept. 14- Oct. 3
• Casey Folk, 2015 Wrap2Wrap Winner; PDX Wraps
• Jamie Mullican, 2015 Wrap2Wrap Winner; WrapArtist.com
• Joe Walton, Technical Service; 3M Commercial Solutions Division
Upon the judges’ selection, two finalists will receive an all-expense-paid trip to the 2016 SEMA Show to star in a live wrap installation on November 3. This final crescendo will join both finalists in a dynamic wrap demo.
Graphics installers may enter the Wrap2Wrap battle beginning July 11, by visiting 3M.com/Wrap2Wrap to submit before-and-after photographs of a vehicle wrapped with 3M Wrap Series Film 1080. Points will be awarded based on the quality of wrap, and overall look and appeal to advance submissions to the second round of judging.
