Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions today announced the expansion of its digital overlaminate (DOL) product line with the addition of two new DOL Max series finishes: DOL 1370 Max, a 1.3 mil luster finish, and DOL1380 Max, a 1.3 mil matte finish.
Overlaminate films are an important addition for any digitally printable graphic. These pressure-sensitive films enhance the durability and longevity of printed vinyl, especially in exterior applications such as fleet graphics, vehicle wraps, marine wraps and outdoor signage. Overlaminates protect the graphic from environmental conditions including harsh weather, UV exposure, chemicals and abrasion. They may also incorporate a special finish that enhances the overall color vibrancy of the graphic.
Avery Dennison launched the advanced DOL Max series in March 2023 with DOL1060 Max, a 2.1 mil gloss finish, and DOL1360 Max, a 1.3 mil optically clear gloss finish. The DOL Max films are engineered specifically for use with Avery Dennison MPI 1105 Supercast film, an industry-leading digitally printable wrapping film.
“What makes the DOL Max films so innovative is the exceptional level of vertical and horizontal protection they offer,” said Alex Fox, Product Manager, Graphics Digital & Signage, Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions. “Horizontally applied graphics are more susceptible to environmental conditions and generally will not last as long as vertically applied graphics. Our new DOL Max films are engineered to protect both vertical and more vulnerable horizontal applications.”
All DOL Max films come with up to 7 year vertical durability and up to 2 year horizontal durability. Other features and benefits include:
Superior conformability to irregular substrates (curves, rivets, corrugations)
Enhanced color and depth of image
Excellent durability and outstanding outdoor performance.
“These two new DOL Max films expand Avery Dennison’s already strong DOL product line, which includes the cast DOL Z series, calendared DOL 2000 and 3000 series, and specialty DOL 6000 series,” Fox said. “Within our overlaminate films portfolio, we have high-quality options for every budget and durability need.”
