Mimaki USA, Inc.
Mimaki recently introduced the CJV200 Series of eco-solvent, roll-based print-and-cut devices. This entry-level series, available in 32-, 54-, and 64-inch widths, provides a universal printing device capable of easily producing indoor and outdoor display graphics and vehicle wraps.
According to Timothy Mitchell, senior manager, customer experience, Mimaki, the series offers improved throughput with nearly double the speed of the CJV150 Series at the same quality.
“The CJV200 Series is a complete sign printing package including the industry’s best outdoor color durability, Simple Create design software, the latest RasterLink 7 RIP software that features barcode-based ID Cut finishing, and four- or eight-color ink options. It also comes with a three year warranty for peace of mind,” says Mitchell.
The CJV200-75 is a 32-inch device, which is popular for smaller shops due to its compact footprint and for dedicated label/decal applications. The CJV200-130 is a 54-inch solution, commonly used for vehicle wrap applications as it’s easy to handle during installation. The CJV200-160 is a 64-inch machine that is ideal for banner applications.
The CJV200 Series uses the Mimaki 330 ink dispensing control technology for precise control of fine inks with droplets as small as three picoliters, delivering high image quality with less graininess.
The CJV200 Series prints at speeds of up to 183 square feet per hour in four-color standard mode, 600×1,200 dpi. Other print modes are available and resolutions are 600, 900, and 1,200 dpi.
Users choose four-color (C, M, Y, K, C, M, Y, K) or eight-color (C, M, Y, K, Lc, Lm, Lk, Or) ink sets in 440ml eco-friendly, paper-based cartridges, or in one-liter packages with the Mimaki Bulk Ink System option.
“Once the media is printed, cutting is automatic with ID Cut that utilizes barcode recognition that enables the cutting rotation of a job to be accurate, regardless of the loading direction,” shares Mitchell.
Overall, the CJV200 Series produces an array of indoor and outdoor display graphics, decals, and stickers. “It is ideally suited to produce vehicle wraps and markings as Mimaki SS22 inks—the successor to the popular SS21 inks—offer best-in-class outdoor durability and extended gamut options that can withstand the rigors of vehicle applications,” concludes Mitchell.
Mutoh America, Inc.
The all-new Mutoh XpertJet C641SR Pro eco-solvent printer/cutter is well suited for a range of applications such as stickers, t-shirt transfers, vehicle decals, posters, banners, and more.
The device is currently only available in a 24-inch width. “This size is perfect for the entry-level graphic designer or print service provider looking to move away from outsourcing and bring production in house,” says Michael Litardo, marketing manager, Mutoh.
Users are able to print and cut a 24-inch roll of media while operating at speeds more than twice as fast as its closest competitors, shares Litardo.
In addition to the built-in contour cutting capability, the XPJ-C641SR Pro also contains all of the functions and features of the full-size XpertJet Pro Series printers including the ultra-fast Mutoh AccuFine printhead, Dropmaster2, FeedMaster automatic alignments, i-screen Intelligent Interweave technology, and Mediatracker.
The all-in-one XpertJet C641SR Pro benefits from Mutoh’s reliability and made-in-Japan quality, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to get into the print game, says Litardo.
“There is no other 24-inch print/cut combination eco-solvent machine on the market, especially with the throughput and quality that the XpertJet C641SR Pro carries,” adds Litardo.
The XpertJet C641SR Pro is capable of print-only, cut-only, print-and-cut (contour), and print-and-cut (perforated through-cut.) There is also an optional stand and take-up unit for larger scale production.
