Trotec Laser announced that final assembly of Speedy 360 and Speedy 400 laser systems is now taking place at the company’s U.S. headquarters in Plymouth, Michigan. This marks a key step in Trotec’s long-term strategy to grow its U.S. presence and bring more of its production process stateside.
The move is designed to improve responsiveness to U.S. customers while increasing resilience and flexibility in Trotec’s global operations.
“We believe that this coupling of Austrian precision and American finish provides an exciting next step for the future of Trotec. Today’s announcement demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the American market, and allows us to advance innovation while strengthening economic and supply chain resiliency,” said Adam O’Donnell, Head of Supply Chain Operations (NA).
Key benefits of the shift include:
Faster delivery and shorter lead times for Speedy systems
Improved part availability for service and repairs
Streamlined upgrades and custom configurations
Tighter integration between production, service, and sales teams
Diversification of production locations, reducing risks from geopolitical events and shipping disruptions
Support for future capacity growth
Job creation and a stronger role in the U.S. industrial base
The Plymouth facility already manages customer service, training, warehousing, and logistics. With the addition of assembly operations, the location becomes a central production hub for North American operations. This change reflects the company’s evolving role in the U.S. market and its focus on delivering more tailored, responsive service.
Trotec plans to expand the scope of U.S.-based assembly in the future to include additional laser systems.
