The Lubrizol Corporation announces the availability of new pretreatment technology to significantly improve digital print capability of pigmented and direct dye sublimation inks for textiles.
PrintRite(TM) DP 300 Series pretreatments are innovative, water-borne formulations designed to enable vivid colors, darker blacks, sharp definition and excellent wash durability, without affecting the fabric integrity. By maintaining the ink on the surface of the fabric, colors are not only more vibrant, but the color gamut is expanded, broadening achievable color range. This also enables inks to realize their full potential for optical density, including the delivery of deep blacks.
“It’s truly a whole new ‘wow factor’ for digital textile printing,” says Kelly Lawrence, global marketing manager, Lubrizol Performance Coatings. “Our new PrintRite DP 300 Series pretreatments are transforming digital textile printing by enabling completely new levels of performance. And perhaps the best part – due to the excellent adhesion of ink to substrate via the pretreatment, a topcoat is not necessary, so there is very little change to how the fabric feels to the touch.”
As digital technology revolutionizes the textile printing industry, PrintRite DP 300 Series pretreatments help realize the benefits of shorter print runs, faster turnaround times and overall improved design capabilities vs. traditional screen printing processes.
Steve Smith, owner of DP Innovations, enthusiastically endorses the PrintRite DP 300 Series. Smith says, “Creating vibrant colors with acceptable light and crock fastness has proved to be one of the biggest challenges for developers of digital pigment inks for textiles. Our clients are setting a new standard in performance when combining PrintRite DP 300 Series pretreatments with their digital pigment printing process. Clients and markets that couldn’t previously be addressed using digital pigments are now accessible.”
