PRINTING United took place at the end of October 2022. The multi-day event attracted attendees from all backgrounds looking to learn about everything from commercial print to signage.

Canon invited attendees to its booth to learn about its Arizona flatbed series as well as the Colorado printers equipped with FLXfinish+ technology. FLXfinish+ is a UVgel feature that is designed to enable print providers to use only one ink set to produce matte prints, gloss prints, and mixed matte and gloss on the same print, independent of the media—without a varnish or additional consumables. Digitech displayed its print-to-cut-inline finishing solution, the TruFire LTX2 printer with the Colex Sharpcut flatbed cutter SXC1732, referred to as TruCORR. Specifically modified to handle corrugated paper, it is customizable for volume and specialty item one-off production. INFO# 161
Epson introduced two new 44-inch dye-sublimation printers, the SureColor F6470 and SureColor F6470H. The SureColor F6470 generates four-color output at speeds of up to 820 square feet per hour (sf/h) to quickly and efficiently produce high-quality images for promotional and personalized goods, apparel, home décor, and soft signage. The SureColor F6470H prints six-color output at speeds of up to 400 sf/h and allows for multiple ink configurations to meet various color needs—CMYK plus either light cyan/light magenta, fluorescent pink/fluorescent yellow, or orange/violet. Fujifilm and Barberán announced a collaboration on a high-speed, single-pass inkjet printer for the display and graphics space. The two companies are working together to bring a new digital press to market in late 2023. This press is predicted to print at speeds of up to 6,000 square meters per hour and a number of major sign and display businesses have already signed agreements to take the first machines. INFO# 163
HP Inc. launched the new HP Latex 2700 Series of printers. The 126-inch wide HP Latex 2700 printers offer vivid colors at up to 958 sf/h via symmetrical double printheads, which come equipped with automatic printhead cleaning technology. The HP Latex 2700W devices are equipped with white ink and operate at speeds of up to 581 sf/h. Automatic ink recirculation and white printheads can be stored in an offline rotating chamber, which eliminates waste between white jobs. INFO# 164
LexJet, part of S-One Holdings, announced an agreement with print manufacturer Mimaki USA, Inc. to carry the full line of Mimaki printers and consumables. Included in the lineup are the two flagship models recently introduced in the 330 series, the JV330-130/JV330-160 and CJV330-130/CJV330-160. Deriving from the 100 Series, these new printers offer impressive image quality, high productivity, and value-added functions, providing new middle and high-end buying options. INFO# 165
Marabu North America and LSINC Corporation shared information on a new partnership, which according to the announcement “provides exceptional quality at the highest industry print speeds for direct-to-object printing.” At the show, Marabu featured LSINC’s new PeriOne direct-to-object printer in its booth. The printer utilized Marabu UltraJet DLE-A digital UV ink. INFO# 166
Mutoh America, Inc. demonstrated the most recent version of its VerteLith 5.0 RIP software. Updates include color replacement, spot color fine tuning, and a new search function. VerteLith 5.0 also includes intelligent nesting, which helps users save money on media by nesting files more efficiently for minimal media usage. The VerteLith 5.0 update is available for all Mutoh eco-solvent and UV printer models, free of charge. VerteLith 5.0 and all of its capabilities, bundled with FlexiDESIGNER MUTOH Edition represent a $2,199 value. INFO# 167
STS Inks announced a new 64-inch direct-to-film (DTF) printer, the 1682D that provides a staggered dual-head design and offers ultra-fast print speeds. It is coupled with the STS 48-inch automatic shaker for increased workflows and processing speeds. STS also previewed the XPD-724D printer set to launch in January 2023. Both the 1628D and XPD-724D utilize STS’ DTF ink. INFO# 168
swissQprint debuted the second generation of its Karibu printer. The dedicated roll-to-roll printer, Karibu 2, uses the latest printhead technology. It achieves up to 1,350 dpi resolution and accommodates rolls up to 3.4 meters wide and prints using UV inks that are flexible and Greenguard Gold certified. Unique features ensure high efficiency and reliability as well as outstanding versatility. INFO# 169
