Pre-conference workshops and bootcamps will showcase the diversity of opportunities in the sign, graphics and visual communications industry at ISA International Sign Expo 2023. Two additional half-day workshops will be included as part of the overall education sessions.
Pre-conference workshops and bootcamps will be held on Tuesday, April 11, before the trade show floor opens. Education sessions continue Wednesday, April 12, through Friday, April 14.
From learning how to work the business end of wraps to diving deep into the materials and techniques that the industry offers, these events will bring the industry’s leading experts to sessions that feature solutions and growth for attendees. The sessions are:
- Business Bootcamp for Wrap Professionals by Avery Dennison features The Wrap Institute’s Justin Pate and John Duever of WrapIQ. They will focus on unique business challenges in the wrap industry, from long hours to frustrated customers. This daylong bootcamp offers solutions for short-term and long-term growth through streamlining workflow and increasing profits.
- The Digital Signage Workshop by Sign Builder Illustrated will focus heavily on codes and regulations impacting this thriving segment of the sign and graphics industry. The half-day event will explore opportunities in the industry with Brandon Meyer, owner of Smart Signs. Deacon Wardlow of Vantage LED will discuss local, state and federal codes issues while David Hickey of ISA will look at the trends impacting those regulations. In between, SBI’s Jeff Wooten will interview YESCO’s Jeff Young about digital sign projects.
- Make It Happen Signage Pre-Conference Workshop explores new products to the industry as well as flat cut signage, stencil cut signage and illuminated letters. Sam Armstrong of Make It Happen is joined by Mike Lev of Harbinger Sign and Wendy Graves of inSIGNia Wholesale for this unique presentation that is perfect for newcomers and long-time professionals alike, anyone who wants to find the right materials for a project and improve upselling skills.
- Armstrong, Lev and Graves will host two half-day Make It Happen bootcamps on Thursday, April 13. The topics will focus on selling, ranging from targeting new customers to retaining existing customers. The other, on illuminated signage, will dive deeper into products and techniques, including mounting letters to glass and problem solving.
Half-day bootcamps are $250 for ISA and Affiliated Association members and $350 for non-members. Daylong workshops are $350 for ISA and Affiliated Association members and $450 for non-members.
