CADlink Technology is pleased to announce that a UV printing version of Digital Factory RIP software is now available. The UV Edition includes a specific feature set that addresses the unique print production workflow requirements introduced by the advancement of UV digital print technology.
Digital Factory UV Edition includes the following key features:
Automated underbase features including support for .pdf and .eps workflows.
Advanced color management including handling of white ink as well as clear coat ink application.
Specialized production plug-ins directly within the RIP.
Automated black background “knock-out” feature that literally blends black artwork components into black substrates, increasing print quality while reducing white ink consumption.
Supports both bitmap as well as vector files.
Print directly from any design application, or drag and drop files to Digital Factory queues without having to prepare underbase layers.
Currently supports Mutoh, Mimaki and Roland printers as well a selection of third-party custom solution provider printers.
“UV digital printing has introduced new complexities to job preparation and production”, states David Evans, CADlink Director of Research and Development, “the common use of white as well as clear inks within day to day production workflows requires that print files are prepared in such a manner that correctly and efficiently address how, when and where white or clear inks are applied to a particular job. Digital Factory UV Edition addresses these issues and simplifies the UV print production workflow”.
