Catalina Graphic Films announces Wall-Tex—a 7.0 mil white woven polyester fabric designed for use in high quality interior wall marking or decal applications—is now ASTM-E96 certified for breathability when when used in accordance with recommended Wall Graphics application practices.
Recently completing the Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate (MVTR) Test in accordance with ASTM-E96, Method A-2, the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) found that the adhesive coated Wall-Tex fabric permitted 90 grams (just under one-half of one pound) of water vapor per square meter of fabric area to be absorbed by the desiccant mass on the “dry” side, during the 24-hour test period.
This is more than adequate for permitting moisture vapor to freely pass into and out of the Wall-Tex and hence, any walls to which is applied. Therefore in designated tests and in a quantifiable manner, Wall-Tex fabric is “breathable” when used by our customers in accordance with recommended Wall Graphics application practices.
“When considering options and textures for Wall Graphics applications, it is important to select high-quality and appropriate substrates.” states Alan Dworman, Catalina Graphic Films’ President, “With Wall-Tex being officially designated as ASTM-E96 certified for “breathability”, this demonstrates the versatility and suitability of the material as one of the most ideal choices in the industry.”
Wall-Tex is compatible with most types of printing methods including offset, screen, eco-solvent, solvent, latex and UV-curable printing, and comes in either 54” or 60” widths, up to 250 yard rolls, or can be sheeted with maximum sheet lengths up to 120”.
