Backlit framing systems are in steady demand with help from silicone edge graphic (SEG) displays. They offer sleek, modern, and polished displays in a variety of finishes and sizes—ideal for trade shows, exhibits, and retail stores.
Available Backlit Frames
In October 2017, Brite Frame Fabricators released the Lightbox 60 Single available in silver, black, and white. It features a 2.4-inch solid frame with a double-sided eight-inch backlit profile. The light box frame illuminates textiles from behind using Brite-LED strips on a Dibond back. It’s typically used for large freestanding displays in retail stores, events, and trade shows. The Lightbox 60 Single can be custom made to any size or power requirement.
Displays2go released the HK75BWDG backlit trade show display in March 2018. Standing at 60x84x14 inches, it is available in a silver frame with customized SEG graphics. The system offers an easy, pop-open design ideal for trade show attendees—setting up and collapsing down in minutes. The 200-watt back wall includes a transformer to plug into standard 110-volt outlets. As of December 2018, HK75BWDG is available for $1,357.99 and includes carrying cases.
The DSA Phototech Backlit LED Frameless Fabric Light Box is designed for use with silicone edge tension fabric graphics. It handles graphics up to 120×204 inches and offers standard finishes in silver and powder coated black, with custom finishes available. Backlit LED strips provide bright, white, and energy efficient illumination throughout the display. The light box features an aluminum extrusion frame, single- and double-sided versions, 24 volts DC, frameless 1/8-inch facing edge, and a two year warranty.
Global Imaging’s most popular extrusion is the REXframe Lightbox RX-108, which can be used as a front lit, backlit, freestanding, wall mounted, hanging, or suspended system. Made standard in anodized silver, it is available in any powder coated color. The REXframe Lightbox profile uses low voltage LED lighting to create an eye-catching effect for events, exhibitions, and retail environments. The 24-volt LED modules clip into the frame and are easily removed. Frames can be customized to any size or fit with feet, wall mounts, ladder lights, frame lights, shelves, or television mounts.
Released in 2013, the Orbus Exhibit & Display Group’s Vector Frame LED SEG push-fit fabric system features four-inch silver aluminum extrusion frames, pre-attached LED lights, and specialty SEG push-fit fabric graphics. It’s available in 12 rectangular and square-shaped sizes as well as custom requested sizes. The frame is often used in trade show exhibits, retail environments, and interior spaces like airports, museums, movie theaters, restaurants, schools, and universities. Pricing ranges from $1,085 to $8,635 MSRP and includes a lifetime warranty.
PosterGarden offers the Luminaria LustraWeave SEG Fabric Pop Up Display, released in June 2017. Available with an eight- or ten-foot back wall, the system features white powder coated hardware with custom printed fabric graphics. The aluminum frames are military grade. Designed for ease of use, it requires 110 VAC, 102 to 500 watts to operate. The eight-foot backlit display is available for $2,299. Optional LCD monitor mounts and shelving are available.
Available from Testrite Visual Products, the SupraSlim LED SnapFrame Light Box features a modern, clean design with a frontloading snap frame. It accepts Duratrans graphics up to 1/32 inches thick with an aluminum alloy construction. Units are 3/4 inches deep with satin and matte finishes available. The SupraSlim is UL certified, hangs vertically or horizontally, and includes a 24-volt external power source. Clear lens and wall mount hardware is included.
Tex Visions released the Pop Up Backlit Keder framing system in April 2018. Available in 9.8×7.4 feet, the display includes a silver frame and is designed for easy setup and teardown. Print edges are lined with silicone, which slides easily into the frame. A silver diffuser panel attaches to the display’s back to prevent hot spots. Pop Up Backlit Keder includes a power cable and carrying cases for the frame, print, and lights. The wholesale price for one piece is $1,168.11.
Verde Fastframe’s Backlit Verde Fastframe system was released in 2018. It is a lightweight frame that offers a two-feet minimum dimension with a maximum length of ten feet. Available in classic black and minimalist white, the system requires no assembly tools, is recyclable, hangs from ceilings, affixes to walls, stands alone, and is single or double sided. Verde Fastframe backlit displays use transformers that plug into standard 120-volt power outlets. Pricing is based on volume and size.
