2.6.17
Digital Graphics Incorporation (DGI), Korea, recently launched dye sublimation textile printer FT-1608 and FT-1908 for both local and global market. The two printers share the same platform, and therefore most of the features are alike each other. DGI emphasize 3 main features of the new printers: Speed, high resolution and newly added user friendly UI. Both printers are powered by 8 Panasonic print heads that are more productive and more stable than printers that are using Epson print heads. FT-1608 and FT-1908 can print a 100m roll in 2.5 hours (720x720dpi), which is 2-3 times faster than previous generation of printers with Epson print heads.
The new textile printers from DGI also have some new features which make them more attractive. First new feature is heavy duty take up system which can adjust tension for various media weight. With this optional heavy duty take up system, users can print minimum of 200m with 100g transfer paper, and up to 400m with 50g non-coated papers. Second feature is newly upgraded user interface, where users can control and operate printers using PCs. Users can choose different mode to print depending on images, and image can be further arranged within UI. The UI system was first applied to DGI’s direct textile printers, and now it’s applied to its new dye sublimation textile printers for convenience of the users. Third feature is large bulk ink refill system which allows long hour printing without any delay. The new bulk ink refill system provides 6 liters of capacity which can also be filled while printing. The last feature is DGI’s new F160 ink which enables high resolution printing possible for the new printers. By using DGI’s new saturated ink, ink consumption can be reduced, while it also shows high resolution on non-coated papers.

FT-1608 is installed in Italy and Brazil while FT-1908 is installed in Turkey for tests. Korean local customers already started using the new printers for production and the users are very satisfied with the new printers’ speed, high resolution and user friendly features. DGI has strengthened its local sales force in 2017 by adding two more dealers for the local market.
