Part 1 of 2
Quick-look resource charts are always helpful, but sometimes providing a little more information can point you in the right direction. Our May issue includes a chart detailing vendors offering eco-friendly media. Each of the companies was given the option to also provide information on their product lines that fall under this segment.
The first in a two-part series, we include submissions from those media manufacturers/suppliers offering rigid “green” media below.
3A Composites
3A Composites recognizes the need for more sustainable solutions to respond to the increasing demand for high-quality, “green” graphic solutions without compromising quality for sustainability. It now offers three 100 percent paper boards—DISPA, POLAR, SWEDBOARD FIBRE—that strive to meet both quality and sustainability requirements by providing premium solutions for a range of applications.
DISPA offers smooth, clay-coated facers and a unique core structure that prevents read-through lines, making it ideal for short-term signage and promotional campaigns. POLAR is an all-new board with a honeycomb core that creates a very rigid, flat board, with high-quality clay-coated facers that produce excellent printing results, positioning it perfectly for short-medium term point of purchase (POP)/point of sale, window, and dimensional displays. SWEDBOARD FIBRE is an extremely rigid and durable board with a core structure engineered to support advanced structural and load-bearing applications, like exhibition or furniture construction, and coated facers that provide excellent printing results.
Lamitech
Lamitech Earthboard is a go-to inexpensive eco-friendly option for retail signage. Made entirely from 100 percent recycled paperboard, Earthboard not only boasts exceptional brightness but also exemplifies sustainability with its core. Ideal for retail signs and displays. Enhance signage or displays with Earthboard and convey a positive message to both your customers and the environment.
Mako-Board
Mako-Board is a smooth, bright white, premium paper board designed to be recycled. It’s a sustainable, long-lasting alternative to plastics for indoor applications exposed to hot, cold, and moist environments and is exceptionally durable when used for temporary outdoor signs.
Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc.
Monadnock, established in 1819 in Bennington, NH, is a pioneer in crafting eco-friendly performance papers for commercial printing, packaging, and technical applications. Embracing FSC-certified fibers, Monadnock’s digital printing products seamlessly blend sustainability with superior quality. These offerings include a diverse range of 100 percent post-consumer waste recycled and virgin fiber options, tailored for flawless printing on digital platforms.
ENVIsual board is a renewable, fiber-based rigid board designed for retail and hospitality graphics, POP displays, and signage. It is FSC-certified.
Oppboga
Oppboga Excellent is lighter than most other boards, stays perfectly flat, and thanks to its high opacity allows for two-sided printing. It is made from 100 percent virgin wood fibers, a renewable and easy-to-recycle resource. This is important as the vast majority of in-store marketing is used for a short period of time. Oppboga Excellent is therefore a sustainable yet cost-effective alternative to foam PVC and other plastic composites.
Panel Processing
Panel Processing’s Eco-Finish Digital Print Media is a specially formulated water-based coating that provides a crisp, vibrant, consistently bright, white surface for high-definition digital printing or screenprinting. It is an environmentally friendly, water-based UV print coating. The coating can be applied to a variety of rigid board substrates of various thicknesses and up to five feet wide and eight feet long. Eco-Finish can be applied to MDF, HDF, and plywood and can be applied to both sides to those substrates. It is an excellent choice for large format printing including signage, graphic intense POP displays, and just about anything else that calls for a high-quality print surface. It can be supplied as full sheets, cut-to-size parts, or machined to desired specifications.
Sign Again
Sign Again is a fully recycled rigid material, made from factory waste and used prints and is newly printable. 100 percent recycled and recyclable it offers endless opportunities while being durable and flexible.
UltraPartners LLC
