From September 13 to 16, 2015 the Graphic Arts Show Company presents Graph Expo at McCormick Place South in Chicago, IL. This year’s theme is “Transform” and looks at a number of segments in the industry. Wide format is one category represented both on the show floor and in seminars. Colter & Peterson, booth 3625, displays the Prism P115. The 45-inch durable, affordable, and cost-effective cutter offers the latest in automation and electronics. New features include a slotless table and Microcut computerized back gauge system with a 15-inch touch screen.
EFI, booth 1902, promotes technologies from one of the industry’s broadest portfolios of industrial inkjet graphics printers and MIS, Web to print, and digital print software including the EFI H1625 65-inch LED hybrid roll/flatbed printer; new, high-end inks for roll-to-roll graphics production; the advanced EFI Fiery proServer; Fiery XF software workflow for inkjet graphics production; and the new EFI Productivity Suite end-to-end workflow.
Enfocus, booth 444, debuts a variety of new products. The next version of the company’s automation powerhouse, Enfocus Switch, is shown. Attendees can view demonstrations of PitStop 13, which now includes customizable preflight messages, preflight restrictions, and automatic bleed generation. Also shown, Enfocus Connect 13.1 answers the need for better communication between graphic design and premedia, production, and print.
Epson, booth 841, shows its lineup of digital imaging solutions, including the new SureColor F-Series dye-sublimation transfer printers. Available in 44- and 64-inch models, the SureColor F-Series features the Epson UltraChrome DS ink system with a new high-density black ink.
GBC/SEAL, booth 2454, introduces its newest product, the ProCut 17P, a digitally programmable paper cutter. The ProCut units feature fully electric operation, including an electric clamp, knife, and back gauge; an LED optical cut line; and a light curtain safety shield. ProCut by GBC delivers all the features needed to simplify operation and increase productivity at an affordable price point.

HP, booth 1202, introduces its latest HP Indigo digital presses, HP InkJet Web Presses, High Definition Nozzle Architecture Technology, and large format printers. Demonstrated in the booth is the new HP PageWide XL 8000 Printer, which delivers fast large format monochrome and color printing with up to 50 percent savings in total production costs. Also on display is the new HP Latex 3500 Printer.
ImageOne Impact, booth 4441, launches a new line of Shop Tables and Wall Racks designed for heavy duty, heavy use sign and graphics shop work. Using an aluminum extrusion, this table frame handles all the sign and graphics work put on it. This kit is a bolt-together frame system so it can be easily assembled and disassembled.
Ink Mill Corporation, booth 3348, showcases its single-pass piezo inkjet inks. The company will have its technical staff on site to answer any ink-related questions or concerns. Ink Mill offers single- and multi-pass inkjet inks available for all major printhead manufacturers. The company provides custom formulations and colors for all inkjet applications.
INX International Ink Co., booth 3617, exhibits EcoTech LM Process Colors, which are high-performance inks that solve packaging challenges where low-migration issues involving substrates, brand color specifications, and converting demands leave no room for compromise. The inks are specifically formulated for the sheetfed, folding carton segment for indirect food contact containers where migration is a concern.
IT Supplies, booth 3052, invites attendees to experience the latest printing technologies from Canon, Epson, and HP, while it exhibits printers that create t-shirts, metal prints, wallpaper, and upholstery. Magnum Magnetics, booth 3048, highlights its printable magnetic media that allows printing directly to magnet using most popular press types, including digital, inkjet, and offset. JFX200 UV-LED, a 4×8-foot landscape flatbed prints onto rigid and pre-cut media. The CJV300 cut-and-print device can produce posters, labels, and banners. The JV400LX latex printer features white, green, and orange inks for precise color representation on metallic or transparent films. The UJF tabletop flatbed UV-LED printer plus CFL-605RT compact cutting plotter fit in a design studio environment for packaging comps.
Mutoh, booth 4241, promotes the VJ426UF 19-inch tabletop printer. It is ideal for shops looking to expand their applications and add UV LED printing. PressWise by SmartSoft, booth 539, shows the latest enhancements to its all-in-one Web to print, MIS, and workflow automation system. Improvements to the print estimating, Web storefront, job editor, and production management tools, as well as enhanced support for third-party APIs are just a few of the features. The company demonstrates some of the recent UI enhancements designed to make the system even easier and faster to use.
PriscoDigital, booth 3607, conducts live continuous end-to-end workflow demonstrations on various rigid media, utilizing the newly introduced HP Scitex FB750, the Kongsberg XP24 Automatic Digital finishing system from Esko, and Caldera GrandRip+. In addition, an innovative flexible media workflow utilizing HP’s Latex 360 printer and Graphtec FC8600 roll cutter is also displayed.
Ricoh Americas Corporation, booth 1231, demonstrates its wide format print solutions including the Ricoh Pro L4130 wide format color printer with six color processing—with white, environmentally friendly aqueous durable latex inks, and output capabilities up to 63 inches wide. The Mimaki JFX-200 inkjet flatbed printer prints on any substrate; it boasts the Mimaki Advanced Pass System 2 for minimizing banding effects.
Roland DGA, booth 4253, showcases digital printers and printer/cutters that are transforming package prototyping, short-run package production, and product customization. Visitors get a firsthand look at Roland’s new, industrial-strength VersaUV LEJ-640FT flatbed UV printer, as well as innovative inkjets from the company’s VersaUV LEC and VersaUV LEF series. Popular wide format eco-solvent models from Roland’s SOLJET Pro 4, VersaCAMM VSi, and VersaEXPRESS series are also on display.

Vivid Laminating Technologies, booth 3449, presents the Easymount Air and Matrix Laminating brands. The Easymount Air Pneumatic Wide Format Laminator is a breakthrough product. The air pressure that controls the roller allows users to mount and laminate with accuracy. XMPie, A Xerox Company, presents a new version of its PersonalEffect software and its software that creates Web to print portals.
Zünd, booth 3007, displays G3 and S3 cutter models with a comprehensive selection of tool and material-handling options, including the automated Zünd Cut Center production workflow based on automatic quick response code capture and robotic offload. Capable of processing stacks of randomly nested printed sheets, boards, or rolls, the system automatically retrieves the corresponding cut files and finishes them—all while the robotic arm continually picks up and stacks the cut/finished parts.
