The April issue of Digital Output includes a feature article on wide format graphics media used across multiple applications—floor graphics, counter mats, or wallcoverings. This multifaceted material is ideal for print service providers looking to effectively manage product inventory while offering clients more than one service.
Introductions from vendors that participated in the April article are included here, with a specific interest on materials that work well for floor graphic applications.
Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions offers an array of multifaceted films and overlaminates available to meet a range of floor graphic needs, whatever they may be. As marketers try to catch a consumer’s attention in every possible location, floor graphics are causing many of us to look down and take notice. Floor films allow brands to amplify crucial messaging or promotions in high-traffic environments. Avery Dennison films can be applied on smooth flat substrates in grocery stores or department stores to rough or textured substrates on ceramic tile floors or indoor painted concrete. The company offers and recommends overlaminates that are specially tested to comply with UL slip resistance requirements. Pair floor films with Avery Dennison DOL 1000, DOL 2000, or DOL 3000 series overlaminates and increase the durability of graphics to handle foot traffic.
Better Life Technology’s G-Floor Graphic is available in a range of thicknesses and textures to meet a variety of floor graphic needs, in both clear and white options. The 35-mil option is highly versatile and ideal for countertop graphics, counter mats, and short- to mid-term floor graphics. This option balances durability with flexibility, making it well suited for multi-surface campaigns. The 50- to 75-mil option is designed for longer term and heavier duty floor applications, including full-floor installations. These products are available in widths up to ten feet, reducing seams and simplifying installation for large spaces. This range allows print providers to select the right product based on traffic level, duration, and environment, while maintaining consistent print quality across applications.
Brand Management Group (BMG) carries a variety of products suitable for floor graphic applications. HP Removable Adhesive Fabric is a multifaceted material that can be used for nearly any project with almost any ink technology. The special adhesive is designed to adhere to non-porous surfaces, creating seamless, high-quality photographic graphics for a range of applications. Tested and approved for indoor smooth floor graphics, BMG offers versions compatible with latex, aqueous, and PageWide ink technologies, and it also now comes in a two-inch core option, in addition to a recycled version made with recycled water bottles and coating materials. It passed stringent testing by ANSI and is certified safe and slip resistant for floors. It can also be used for custom wall murals, wall cut outs, indoor and short-term outdoor signage, window decals, decor, and event graphics, among other applications.
Continental Grafix USA has a full range of flexible one- and two-step floor graphic solutions. Print and apply with NatureWalk, Walk&Wall, and FoilWalk. Customers have used these solutions for interior and exterior wayfinding, event signage, walls and murals, and more. Pair X-Treme vinyl and ProtectWalk laminate for a two-step floor solution, and X-Treme pulls double duty for the most challenging floor and wall surfaces from cold or hot environments to low surface energy substrates. In addition, specialized floors need specialized film media. CourtWrap and CWProtect create a complete two-step solution for use on finished basketball court floors and other smooth playing surfaces.
GBC & SEAL Floor Guard is a premium, pressure-sensitive overlaminating film featuring an ultra-aggressive adhesive—ideal for tough-to-stick-to-media such as polyester-based white films. It offers a durable, rich-textured finish that is well suited for creating vibrant, slip- and scuff-resistant floor graphics. Not just for floor graphics, Print Shield Floor Guard is also an excellent choice for protecting trade show graphics and point of purchase displays from heavy wear and fingerprints.
General Formulations’ GF 210 Traffic Graffic is a 3.4-mil matte white vinyl with clear removable adhesive designed for floor graphics. It is a low-tack removable film that works well for smooth surfaces like tables and countertops. It can also be used as the base material for short term stickers or decals. GF 212 Traffic Graffic is a 3.4-mil matte white vinyl with high-tack removable (HTR) adhesive. While designed for floor graphics, it has a unique adhesive that is different from the HTR adhesive used on GF wall graphic films and has a hidden talent of working on cubicle walls and fabric chairs. GF 209AE MetroMark is a 3.5-mil matte white opaque vinyl with clear removable adhesive. Another multifaceted material that can be used on walls, windows, vehicles, plastics, metal, and wood.
Jessup Manufacturing Co.’s newest multifaceted material, Floor2WallPro, is designed as a single solution for floor, wall, and short-term outdoor graphics, eliminating the need to change media as surfaces change. It is a 17-mil, fabric-reinforced, non-slip PVC with a matte finish that supports readable, low-glare graphics and maintains dimensional stability under foot traffic and routine cleaning. Floor2WallPro is compatible with all major wide format ink technologies, including latex, UV, and eco-solvent. For floor applications, Floor2WallPro is engineered with pedestrian safety and performance in mind. The reinforced construction helps prevent stretching during installation and shrinkage over time, allowing graphics to stay tight to the surface and resist edge lift. Beyond floors, the same roll can be used for vertical walls and short-term outdoor placements, including applications on carpet and painted drywall.
Nekoosa’s Trifecta is a 6-mil textured matte white multifaceted wide format print media designed to perform across floors, walls, and countertop graphics, making it a practical choice for print providers looking to streamline their material offering. For floor graphics, Trifecta is UL 410 certified for slip resistance without requiring an additional overlaminate film, helping reduce material and production costs. It also carries an ASTM E84 Class 1 (Class A) fire rating, making it suitable for use in a range of commercial and public interior environments. Trifecta delivers strong print quality across major wide format ink technologies, with reliable ink adhesion and consistent color reproduction. Its adhesive system is engineered to provide secure placement during use and clean removal for short- to mid-term applications such as retail promotions, trade shows, event graphics, and countertop branding. Additionally, Trifecta is manufactured in the U.S., offering a reliable domestic source with consistent quality and performance.
Ultraflex Systems, Inc.’s AdventureScapes is a versatile, adhesive-backed graphic material engineered for wayfinding, floor graphics, wallcoverings, and decals in both indoor and outdoor environments. Featuring an anti-microbial surface and integrated anti-slip embossment, it delivers reliable traction on wet and dry surfaces while remaining tear and wrinkle resistant with no shrinkage after printing. Its quick-drying surface eliminates the need for lamination, and offers broad compatibility with solvent, eco-solvent, UV, and latex inks. Available in 54-inch widths, AdventureScapes combines safety, durability, and design flexibility in a single, multi-surface solution.
