Roland DGA has announced the launch of Roland PrintStudio by Caldera – powerful RIP and print management software designed to help Mac users get the most out of their Roland printers. PrintStudio offers a host of innovative tools and resources for optimizing productivity and efficiency, making it perfect for busy print environments.
With its Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE 4) and advanced ICC profiling tools, Roland PrintStudio ensures high-end output. Innovative automation and template-driven tiling options reduce design and processing time for streamlined workflows, while optimized contour nesting minimizes media waste.
Ready for the latest Mac OS, armed with Adobe’s latest print engine, and available in multiple languages, Roland PrintStudio expedites image processing and improves organization for wide-format operations of all sizes. Newly enhanced color control, improved file preparation, and blazing-fast RIP speeds enable users to deliver on spec, on time, every time.
According to Valery de March, OEM business director at Caldera, PrintStudio offers Roland users both greater performance and increased convenience. “They’ll be able to take advantage of extensive color management features, create an unlimited number of presets, and use automated functionalities and hot folders as well as advanced tiling and nesting tools,” he said.
Multiple Roland PrintStudio features allow for enhanced color accuracy, including hundreds of spot colors within the Roland Color & Metallic System Libraries and support for RAL, HKS and Pantone® color swatches. Users have the option of accessing a library of media profiles at the online Roland Profile Center, or creating their own ICC profiles. The software also provides support for low-cost color spectrophotometers.
PrintStudio works hand-in-hand with Roland’s cutting-edge printers to deliver customer-pleasing graphic results. Advanced features for special color generation (Wh/Gl/Mt) have been introduced to ensure perfect pixel-to-pixel registration. Users can also create personalized output templates, making it easy to produce printed items that match the specific needs of their customers.
“We collaborated with Caldera to develop a state-of-the-art software release that’s designed to support businesses from start to finish,” noted Julie Gederos, Roland DGA’s product manager, cutters and digital platforms. “It offers a wealth of tools and features that enable users to maximize speed, accuracy and efficiency throughout the entire RIP process.”
Additional Roland PrintStudio tools include a new blur & bleed function that removes the risk of white lines at cutting edges, plus a handy feature that expedites the post-production process by making it easy for users to add custom grommet marks to their artwork. An Application Guide tool further streamlines finishing by automatically assigning a number to each tile while generating a summary PDF to assist installers with large-scale graphics.
