Many framing options exist for for silicone edge graphics (SEG). Ease of use, transportability, and weight are a few features to consider when searching for a display system ideal for SEG.
Here are a few framing options from vendors that participated in on our SEG feature article, which you’ll find in the February issue of Digital Output.
Alpina Manufacturing, LLC
Alpina Manufacturing offers a 5/8-inch thick silver anodized SEG extrusion frame, which is well suited for a large majority of medium- to large-format wall mount non-lit SEG graphic applications.
“Other thicker/deeper profiles are ideal for SEG light boxes as the extra depth allows for mounting of perimeter LEDs modules inside the frame extrusions. These deeper profiles are also ideal for freestanding and hanging SEG applications,” says Nick Dinunzio, director of business development, Alpina.
Expolinc
Expolinc’s Light Frame, Classic Frame, Light Frame Mini, Fold Out Counter, and Light Frame Counter are all designed with SEG in mind, offering diverse options to suit any display need.
The systems are designed to work together and easy to reconfigure.
In addition, Maria Castricone, marketing and inside sales manager, Expolinc, says its SEG framing systems breakdown to provide optimal shipping and storage—without the need for large shipping crates.
Light Frame is built with integrated LED lighting. It enhances SEG fabrics with vivid, backlit graphics that pop in any setting. Its tool-free, modular design allows for seamless graphic swaps, making it ideal for high-impact displays.
Classic Frame is known for its reconfigurable, easy-to-assemble design, the Classic Frame is versatile, allowing for multiple setup options without tools. This flexibility, combined with robust materials, makes it a durable and reusable SEG solution.
The Light Frame Mini delivers the same LED-backlit brilliance in a compact size, making it ideal for tabletop displays or smaller spaces. It provides an eye-catching, illuminated SEG option without sacrificing portability.
The Fold Out Counter sets up in under a minute, combining convenience with high-quality SEG graphics on a compact, sturdy surface. The quick setup and professional appearance make it a popular choice for adding branded counter space to booths and displays.
Expolinc’s Light Frame Counter adds depth to SEG displays with its LED backlighting, creating a bright and polished appearance. It’s an excellent way to extend branding to functional display elements, providing both aesthetic appeal and practicality.
“Each of these products differentiates itself by prioritizing ease of use, durability, and quality lighting, making Expolinc a standout choice in the SEG space. Our versatility and commitment to premium design ensure that Expolinc products can meet the evolving needs of clients in any event environment,” says Castricone.
Global Imaging, Inc.
Global Imaging offers two unique framing solutions—REXframe and T3 Systems. Both systems provide versatile, high-quality frames for SEG displays, with each offering distinct features to suit different installation requirements and design preferences.
Both are unique in their assembly—T3 can be assembled tool free because of its Twist-Lock connector, while REXframe can be assembled with the use of one tool.
They both offer versatility and customizability that sets them apart from the competition because they can be fabricated in any size, down to a half of a millimeter, offering a level of design freedom not typically allowed by other systems.
Testrite Visual Products
Testrite offers a full range of SEG products built with the needs of brands and retailers in mind. “Our tool-free frames are the easiest to assemble in the industry, making setup a breeze. Testrite is proud to manufacture our frames in the U.S. from American materials, reducing the risk from port strikes, tariffs, and other geopolitical uncertainties. In addition, as a full line American manufacturer, we customize frames every day,” says Jeffrey Rubin, president, Testrite.
Whether you need a custom size, steel bases, powder coat color, or brackets to fit into your existing retail standards, Testrite does it in house.
Sewing
Sewing is also often necessary when creating SEG frames.
Display Source, Inc. (DSI) offers semi- and fully-automated stitching of fabrics for SEG. Two options that allow virtually any print shop to enhance and upgrade sewing capabilities, based on current and future business opportunities. “Bringing outsourced functions back into the shop improve supply chain controls, costs, quality, and turnaround,” suggests LaMarsh.
DSI offers two Meevo products, which are well suited to SEG customer demands—SEAS Universal Kit for upgrading any sewing station to handle SEG stitching and the EVENT + SEAS Automated Sewing System.
