Window graphics are versatile and apply to many scenarios. Print service providers (PSPs) well versed in producing and installing window graphics offer the service for a variety of uses.
One PSP that often utilizes window graphics is Renze Display. Established in 1895, the company currently employs a staff of 42 out of a 90,000 square foot facility in Omaha, NE. It prints, fabricates, and installs its work nationwide, with a concentration of customers in the Midwest.
Its product mix includes interior branding, exhibits, and event graphics printed with a variety of latex, UV, and solvent equipment. Its superwide roll printers are 126 inches wide and its flatbed printers are 120×90 inches. The company also prints dye-sublimation fabric at 126 inches. Products are finished on three cutters by MultiCam and Zünd.
Window Graphics
One of the company’s specialties is window graphics, which make up approximately seven to ten percent of its total print volume. “We have printed window graphics for well over 12 years and most recently switched to using latex and UV inks exclusively,” comments Scott Buchanan, director of estimating, Renze Displays.
For window graphics, the shop prefers Continental Grafix USA, Inc. 70/30 perforated window film, which it sources from Northlight Color. It appreciates both the value and performance the product offers. “We like to use one brand to eliminate any problems with adhesion, installation, and longevity,” says Buchanan.
He says the shop experiences good ink adhesion, ease of installation, and removal of its window graphic products. “All three give us the confidence that the product will perform and the installation will go smoothly—making us more competitive and allowing us to save the customer money,” he adds.
Requests for window graphics come from a variety of sources, including events, point of purchase, corporate branding, and exhibits. They are typically applied short term, about one to three months. Anything over three months is considered long term by the print provider.
Window graphics are typically installed by the shop’s own installation team, but it outsources the task on occasion depending on the size and quantity of the project.
Event Center Graphics
For years, Renze Displays has decorated windows at the Omaha Convention and Event Center. The timeframe is always tight, so installation has to be fast and error free. The removal must also be performed quickly.
Event window graphics recently decorated a large portion of the Omaha Convention and Event Center for the FEI World Cup Finals, sponsored by Longines. The job included multiple installers and boom lifts to place Continental Grafix 70/30 perforated film on the front entrance of the facility. Graphics were printed on an HP Inc. 126-inch wide latex printer.
The graphics were submitted by the client and the job took about 15 working days total to complete. Renze Displays was involved in the printing, installation, and removal of the film.
Printed and Installed
Renze Displays uses its skills and expertise to take over large event spaces in a limited amount of time. Solutions like window graphics help set the scene.
