The November issue of Digital Output looks at window media optimized for latex/resin inks. Of course, many more ink sets are out there and various window media options that work with them. To accompany our all-inclusive window media chart—also in the November issue—here, we share some notable and new materials designed for window graphics.
ACCO Brands’ SEAL UltraClear PET is a 4.9-mil optically clear polyester film that can be used for many different graphic and design applications. It has a unique ultra clear silicone adhesive that is both repositionable and removable. This product is ideal for architectural design, including glass office partitions, point of purchase (POP) and retail signage, and window graphics. It is designed for use with solvent, eco-solvent, latex, and UV-curable inks.
ASLAN offers a comprehensive range of window films. This includes vibrant options like the dichroic ColourShift ASLAN SE 70 and the transparent GlassColour ASLAN CT 113, available in 19 different colors. For privacy, ASLAN provides films with etched, silver etched, dusted, or milky finishes. These privacy films feature the trusted ASLAN Dryapply technology, ensuring easy, bubble-free dry application and compatibility with common printing technologies. Additionally, ASLAN offers a dry erase etched privacy film EtchedBoardDryapply ASLAN EBL 300, which can be repeatedly cleaned without leaving any shadows or ghosting.
Continental Grafix USA, Inc.’s iTac White is an opaque white PET film backed with a proprietary adhesive designed for interior and exterior applications on ultra-smooth surfaces. A unique low-tack adhesive allows iTac White to be installed wet or dry and is permanently removable without leaving residue behind. iTac White is universally compatible with solvent, eco-solvent, UV, and latex ink.
Drytac carries a large array of window graphic solutions, all with latex/resin compatibility. These include polypropylene and polyester with hybrid, permanently peel-able and permanent adhesives solutions as well as blockout media to be paired with clear materials or synthetic blockout media paired with window mounting adhesives for push/pull graphics.
Flexcon offers a variety of window graphic solutions to showcase brand messaging indoors and outdoors. Substrates include perforated, white, and clear options for a multitude of print technologies. Base films consist of vinyl and non-vinyl products with the option of an air egress liner to aid in bubble-free installation. All products are cleanly removable.
General Formulations’ WindowMark window graphic films include perforated high-performance vinyl films with a white print side and black see through side as well as a blockout option. General Formulations WindowMark perforated high-performance vinyl film includes GF 280 (80/20 perf pattern), GF 270 (70/30 perf pattern), GF 260 & 261 (60/40 perf pattern), and GF 232 (50/50 perf pattern). These films are designed for flat, smooth transparent surfaces. They are great solutions for temporary storefront applications and medium-term applications requiring view through capabilities and bond to windows. GF 218 WindowMark Blockout is a gloss white print media designed to be 100 percent opaque and is excellent for window graphics and retail displays where total opacity and zero light transmission is required.
Lintec of America, Inc. invested a substantial amount of time and money in its latex ink compatible optically clear window film development process. The company’s E-3000ZC latex film is a 2-mil optically clear polyester that offers excellent clarity and dimensional stability. E-3000ZC features an
optically clear top coating designed specifically for latex ink compatibility. Coated with Lintec’s ultra clear high-performance solvent-based permanent acrylic adhesive, this offers excellent adhesion to glass. Lamination is recommended if added durability is required.
Mactac offers a range of innovative products for windows, walls, floors, and vehicles, including translucent solutions for interior and exterior backlit graphic applications; easy, mess-free products for indoor and outdoor window graphics and POP/trade show displays; clear high-gloss or no-label look options that can be applied wet or dry; and unique opaque vinyl blends.

Newlife Magnetics, LLC’s Cling King print media has a high-quality PET print surface with a smooth silicone coating on the back that allows it to stick to any smooth non-porous surface just like a suction cup. It is repositionable and totally residue free, even after long-term installations. Available in white and clear versions. The clear version is optically clear and ideal for window graphics where you don’t want to see anything but your printed graphic. For best results, use wet apply Cling King to remove all of the air bubbles. It is printable with solvent, UV, and latex.
